We are currently looking for a Billing Assistant with previous experience of working within a Law Firm. Our client are an elite, globally renowned law firm based in the heart of London, with offices based in the worlds key financial centres.
The Billing Assistant is responsible for the day-to-day billing and credit control activities of the London and Madrid offices. Processing of weekly staff expenses and general accounting support.
Responsibilities of the Billing Assistant:
Regularly review WIP balances with Partners and Associates and update Inventory Express for comments.
prepare draft bills for Partners to review, ensuring accuracy and compliance with VAT, SAR and AML rules
Finalise bills and post into the firm’s accounting records
Review unpaid bills with Partners and agree post billing actions to ensure prompt payment of bills
Contact clients as required to discuss unpaid bills
Draft monthly and quarterly statements of time incurred and unpaid bills for Partners prior to client review meetings.
Prepare and distribute weekly utilisation reports
Prepare monthly analysis of unbilled time and unpaid bills for the firm’s European offices
Collate data for end of tax year P11d forms for submission to HM Revenue & Customs (“HMRC”).
Maintain an analysis of overheads incurred in respect of staff benefits to be included in the annual Voluntary Settlement Agreement report to HMRC
