We are seeking a Desktop Support Engineer to join our client’s team permanently. The Desktop Support Engineer will be working full-time in the office, and closely with a team of engineers, thriving to provide IT Support. The Desktop Support Engineer must have experience in an IT position for at least 6 months.
Key Responsibilities for the Desktop Support Engineer:
Installing and maintaining hardware and computer peripherals
Installing and upgrading operating systems and computer software
Responding to end-user support requests
Contacting end users to find out the nature of the problem
Troubleshooting hardware and software issues
Completing job reports and ordering supplies
Potential travel to satellite offices and ability to work after hours when necessary
Skills Required for the Desktop Support Engineer:
Willingness and ability to learn new skills and use new types of information
Ability to prioritize and perform the required solution
Competency in installing, diagnosing, troubleshooting and repairing computer hardware and software on PCs and related equipment
Excellent punctuality skills
Good written and verbal communication skills
Previous experience in a similar role
Knowledge of popular operating systems, software applications, and remote connection systems
