An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a collaborative in-house Legal Department with a key focus on employment law and tribunal cases.
We are recruiting for an In-House Solicitor to join our Legal Services team based in either Hull or Sheffield. This is a critical role for the provision of a comprehensive legal service for a large workforce.
The key responsibilities for the In-House Solicitor :
We are looking for an outstanding individual who is comfortable managing a diverse caseload and working in a very fast paced environment.
dealing with Employment Tribunal claims including the preparation of pleadings, evaluation and assessment of evidence
advising on merits of cases and working with Counsel
working closely with colleagues in HR and to advise on employee relations matters, such as grievances and capability.
identifying and managing risk and advising the client accordingly
Whilst we are seeking an individual with good quality employment law experience, of equal importance will be a candidate who has the right attitude and ability and willingness to learn a new area of law and fit in with the talented team. They can provide training to the right individual.
Key skills and experience to be considered for this In-House Solicitor role :
Solicitor/Barrister/Legal Executive (Fellow).
Legal qualification to degree level or equivalent.
Experience in the conduct of Employment Tribunal claims.
Ability to manage a considerable and diverse employment law caseload providing clear and legally sound advice.
Excellent oral and written communication skills to deal with all levels within the business, support staff and external agencies.
