Our client, a local government body, is currently looking to recruit a Project Manager to join their team on a contract basis. The Project Manager will have experience working with the public sector, for a Council would be advantageous. The Project Manager will be responsible for the delivery of sustainability projects, construction and housing projects.
Our client has a large and diverse portfolio of Capital Projects and needs high calibre project and programme management to help shape and deliver plans to deliver key infrastructure to support the significant growth (c.£300m in total); as such the Project Manager will be taking full end to end ownership of Capital Projects.
Key experience for the Project Manager:
Experience of working at the management level in the delivery of Capital Schemes within a Local Government Environment
PRINCE2 or equivalent project/programme management qualification
Knowledge and practical delivery of capital schemes from inception to occupation and project closure, with a focus on sustainability. In particular; Infrastructure schemes such as either Education, Community spaces, Greenspaces and Leisure or transformation of town centres
Experiencing in managing projects and successful completion of these projects
Experience in the development of high-quality and robust business cases
Experience in managing a team to the completion of projects
Proven experience of developing a strong network of contacts within the public and private sectors
Knowledge of technical, legal and health and safety requirements.
