Hiring: Purchasing Manager

As they continue to expand, they are seeking a talented Purchasing Manager to lead their team of Buyers with a focus on team management and development.


This role is a hybrid role with 2 days per week onsite.

Position Overview: As the Purchasing Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of stock management within their Open to Buy model. Your primary objective will be team and process improvements, improving availability to customers and senior stakeholder management with suppliers. You will play a crucial role in developing and mentoring the Buying team to ensure their continued growth and success.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the team of 10 Buyers in procuring goods and services necessary for our operations.

  • Develop and implement strategic purchasing plans to meet the company's objectives while maximizing cost savings and efficiency.

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts and terms to secure favourable pricing and terms.

  • Provide leadership and guidance to the procurement team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

  • Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and identify training and development opportunities for team members.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as relevant regulations and standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field; MBA or relevant certification (e.g., CSCP, CPSM) preferred.

  • Proven experience in purchasing management within the retail or FMCG industry, with a strong understanding of procurement processes and best practices.

  • Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team to achieve common goals.

  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a strategic mindset and a focus on driving results.

  • Proficiency in relevant software and systems (e.g., ERP, procurement software) is desirable.
