.SEN Post 14 Team Leader
Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people with special educational needs (SEN)? Are you a proactive and person-centered leader? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as an SEN Post 14 Team Leader.

Responsibilities for the SEN Post 14 Team Leader:
  • Ensure casework is legally compliant, person-centered, and responsive to the needs of young people. Conduct quality assurance checks and dip samples as per service procedures.
  • Coordinate and analyze professional advice to develop comprehensive Education Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) that effectively meet the needs of young people.
  • Stay up to date with SEND legislations, guidance, and identify necessary process changes to fulfill legislative requirements.
  • Keep abreast of Post-16 provision, career pathways, and guidance. Implement necessary changes to processes to ensure alignment with new developments.
  • Conduct regular reviews of EHCPs in accordance with legislation. Attend complex review meetings with a focus on achieving positive outcomes for young people.
  • Support young people and their families during the transition from Year 11 to further education (FE) provision. Ensure compliance with statutory SEN processes and deadlines.
  • Establish and maintain Post-16 phased transfer databases. Coordinate sub-teams in sending preference forms, chasing and logging them, and updating databases accordingly.
  • Track and record outcomes of young people as they leave school, sixth form settings, or General FE programs with EHCPs.
  • Meet all statutory responsibilities, including adherence to required timescales.
  • Respond to and manage high-risk cases, providing informed and accurate advice and guidance.
  • Lead in relevant SEN decisions, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and guidelines. Represent the Local Authority in disagreement resolution meetings and mediations.
  • Support the development of the service's quality assurance framework and provide guidance to education providers and partners across health and care.
  • Lead training with partners to support the successful delivery of the SEND service's activities.
