As the Vendor Project Manager you will play a crucial role in our clients Transformation program. You will be responsible for managing vendor partnerships, ensuring seamless project delivery, and fostering positive vendor relationships. Your responsibilities include developing and maintaining strong relationships with our vendors, managing budgets and statements of work, and overseeing project performance.


The role is offered on an initial 6 months contract, 35 hour working week and hybrid working


Key Responsibilities of the Vendor Project Manager

  • Identify potential vendors and assess their capabilities.

  • Develop and execute vendor onboarding processes.

  • Negotiate and finalise vendor statements of work, ensuring favorable terms for the organisation.

  • Cultivate and maintain positive, productive relationships with existing vendors.

  • Continuously monitor and assess vendor performance, addressing any issues or concerns.

  • Facilitate regular vendor meetings to review progress and discuss opportunities for improvement.

  • Support cross-functional teams in planning, executing, and delivering vendor projects.

  • Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.

  • Monitor project timelines and budgets to ensure projects stay on track.

  • Analyse and optimise vendor costs to achieve cost-effectiveness.

  • Implement quality control processes to meet and exceed quality standards.

  • Develop and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure vendor performance.

  • Identify potential risks in vendor relationships and projects.

  • Develop mitigation strategies and contingency plans.

  • Proactively address issues that may arise during projects.

  • Ensure that all vendor relationships and projects comply with company policies and industry regulations.

  • Escalate vendor performance and project status to the management team.

Qualifications and Experience required of the Vendor Project Manager

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Business, Information Technology).

  • Proven experience in vendor management and project management.

  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • PMP or similar project management certification is a plus.
