Key Responsibilities for the Finance Operations Manager
- Lead, manage and develop a team of transactional finance staff.
- Set clear objectives and performance standards for the team.
- Own and oversee the daily bank reconciliation process.
- Ensure all transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled in a timely manner.
- Manage the billing team, ensuring invoicing is accurate and issued on time. It is fundamental that this role is the “Subject Matter Expert” for the system and the process.
- Manage the Accounts Payable Administrator to ensure supplier invoices are processed accurately and on time.
- Run the monthly payroll process, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Post payroll journals into the accounting system.
- Calculate and process monthly sales commissions.
- Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Ensure robust financial controls are maintained across all transactional processes.
- Support month-end close processes.
- Proven experience in creating and implementing best-in-class finance
- Strong background in transactional finance (AR, AP, payroll, bank recs)
- Strong reconciliation and control mindset
- Excellent organisational and leadership skills
- Hands-on, detail-oriented approach – initially this role will require the successful candidate to jump into the day-to-day with the team to help build and train new processes.
